An interesting newcomer for the summer is GOZY Sparkling Rosé Sangria in cans, on sale in Alko stores from May Day.
GOZY Rosé brings together the flavours of sparking rosé wine and sangria. Developed by Finns, this rosé sangria (Alc 8%), the first in the world to come in cans, is a refreshing newcomer among low-alcohol beverages. It is a creation of the Finnish developers of the sparkling mulled wine glögg, Glöet. The recipe was created in cooperation with Finland’s leading wine connoisseur, Antti Rinta-Huumo. This spring newcomer tastes of the citric fruits familiar from sangria, such as yuzu and lemon, with a bouquet accentuated by a dash of rosewater. In line with international trends, the drink should be chilled in the can, or drunk from a wine glass with ice. The stylish, unbreakable can is easy to take along during the summer. Each can (0.33l) will give two to three glasses.
”Made in Spain, beautifully sparkling Gozy comes in a can like candy; genuinely and intentionally feminine, and ultra-modern in its Instagram-friendliness. The can’s design was tested on a target group and the women chose this one in particular,” says Anette Raunio, the CEO of Von Elk.
The trend of selling wine in aluminium cans, which has gradually spread to Europe from America, is now one of the most interesting and fastest growing beverage industry phenomena. Young adults in particular have adopted this new, handy way of trying out new drinks in small packages. The can is environmentally friendly, chills fast and is easy to take along to summer celebrations.
“The beverage industry products currently sold in cans just fail to win me over. By international comparison, very few canned drinks of interest to women are sold in Finland. This situation needs to be remedied. On May Day, I serve Gozy Rosé in a glass with ice, raspberries and a sprig of mint,” says Anette Raunio.
